#1 Microsoft Copilot

1. Microsoft Copilot Chat | Upload Multiple Reference Images

Copilot Chat is gaining enhanced creative flexibility with the ability to upload multiple reference images within a single conversation. This update streamlines image generation, reduces repetitive steps, and supports more dynamic visual creation.

When this will happen

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins in October 2025 and is expected to complete by November 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Users will be able to add multiple reference images when generating visuals in Copilot Chat.
  • This feature enables richer, context-aware outputs and faster iteration.
  • Available by default with no admin configuration required.

2. Microsoft Edge for Business | Rewrite with Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat

Microsoft Edge for Business will soon support Rewrite, a new feature powered by Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Rewrite helps users draft, rephrase, and refine editable text directly within Edge, improving both productivity and writing quality. Users can access Rewrite by highlighting editable text and selecting the option from the right-click context menu.

When this will happen

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins in late September 2025 and is expected to complete by the end of September 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Rewrite will be on by default for Edge for Business users.
  • Users can highlight any editable text and access Rewrite through the context menu.
  • This enhancement enables faster content refinement without switching tools, helping employees stay focused and in flow.

3. Microsoft 365 Copilot | Memory Enhancements for Personalization

Memory in Microsoft 365 Copilot is being updated to deliver more personalized and contextual experiences. Copilot will begin using chat history to tailor responses, providing users with more relevant insights. In addition, refreshed user controls in Copilot settings will make it easier to view, manage, and adjust what Copilot remembers.

When this will happen

  • Targeted Release: Begins early October 2025, expected completion by mid-October 2025.
  • General Availability: Begins mid-October 2025, expected completion by late October 2025.

How this affects your organization:

All users of Microsoft 365 Copilot in tenants where Memory is enabled.

What will happen:

  • Copilot will use chat history to personalize responses, making interactions more tailored and helpful:

  • Users will see a redesigned Memory settings page that improves visibility and control over what Copilot remembers.
  • Existing admin and user-level Memory settings are respected. If Memory is toggled off, it will remain off.
  • No changes to admin controls or policy enforcement.

4. Microsoft 365 Copilot Pages | Version History

Version history is being added to Microsoft 365 Copilot Pages to help users refine their work with confidence. This capability allows users to view and restore previous versions of a page—whether edits were made manually, through Copilot, or collaboratively. The update enhances transparency and control in content creation and reflects customer feedback.

When this will happen

  • Public Preview (Worldwide): Begins early October 2025; expected completion by late October 2025.
  • General Availability (Worldwide): Begins late October 2025; expected completion by late October 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Who is affected: Users with Entra ID (work or school) accounts who have access to Microsoft 365 Copilot Pages and underlying SharePoint or OneDrive storage.
  • License note: A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is not required to use version history in Copilot Pages.

What will happen

  • Users will be able to view a full history of changes made to a page.
  • Previous versions can be restored at any time, regardless of whether changes were made by Copilot, an individual, or collaborators.
  • The feature is enabled by default; no admin configuration is required.

5. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat | Edit in Outlook Integration

A new Edit in Outlook button in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat provides a seamless bridge between conversation and email composition. When using the Work scope, Copilot Chat detects intent to draft an email and displays the Edit in Outlook button. Selecting this button launches a draft in Outlook, complete with a suggested subject line and body text.

This integration streamlines email workflows, reduces context switching, and helps users move from idea to action more efficiently.

When this will happen

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rolling out in October 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Users with Microsoft 365 Copilot access will see the Edit in Outlook button appear in Copilot Chat when drafting work-related messages.
  • Selecting the button opens a new Outlook draft pre-populated with suggested content.
  • This feature is enabled by default and requires no admin configuration.

6. Microsoft 365 Copilot | Copilot Library and Updates to Search and Create

The Microsoft 365 Copilot Library serves as a centralized destination within the Copilot app for managing AI-generated content. Users can easily find, edit, and share content they created with Copilot or content shared with them.

Currently, the Library supports:

  • Images created via Copilot.
  • Copilot Pages generated from Copilot Chat and the Create experience.

This centralized view allows users to track and iterate on their creations—whether it’s a banner for an event or a collaborative team document—making content management more efficient and organized.

When this will happen

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rolling out in October 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Users with Microsoft 365 Copilot access can browse, edit, and share Copilot-generated content directly from the Library.
  • All existing Copilot-created images and Pages will appear in Library once the feature is available.
  • No admin configuration is required; the feature is enabled by default.

7. Microsoft 365 Copilot | Enhanced Video Creation in Create

Users can now produce videos from text prompts and existing files such as PowerPoint, Word, and PDFs using the Create experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. The enhanced video creation capabilities include:

  • Transcript-based editing for precise content adjustments.
  • HD voice options for clearer audio narration.
  • Brand alignment using brand kits to ensure consistent organization-wide visuals and messaging.
  • New scene structure for improved storytelling and content flow.
  • Redesigned editing experience to streamline video creation and iteration.

These updates enable organizations to produce on-brand, accessible, and scalable video communication efficiently.

When this will happen

  • General Availability (Worldwide): Rolled out in September 2025.

How this affects your organization

  • Users with access to Microsoft 365 Copilot can create and edit videos directly in the Create experience.
  • Videos can be generated from text prompts or imported files such as PowerPoint decks, Word documents, or PDFs.
  • No admin configuration is required; the feature is enabled by default.

8. Microsoft 365 Copilot | Update Documents and Fix Spelling & Grammar in Word

Copilot now enables users to reuse sections of existing Word documents or templates using content from files, emails, and meetings as references—while preserving the original formatting.

How it works:

  • Highlight the section of the document to update.
  • Click the pen icon and select “Update with…”.
  • Choose the files, emails, or meeting content for Copilot to reference.
  • Copilot generates a refreshed version below the original section, allowing users to keep or discard the changes.
  • Formatting remains intact; only the selected content is updated.

When this will happen

  • Web: Feature rolled out in September 2025.
  • Windows desktop and Mac: Rolling out over the next few months.

How this affects your organization

  • Users can efficiently update document sections using the most recent context from other files or meetings.
  • Reduces repetitive editing while maintaining consistent formatting.
  • No admin configuration is required; the feature is enabled by default for users with Copilot in Word.

9. Microsoft Teams | Facilitator: End-to-End Meeting Management

Facilitator provides a comprehensive way to manage meetings in Microsoft Teams, helping users stay on track, capture decisions, and follow through on actions.

Key capabilities:

  • Agenda & Goals: Sets the agenda from the invite or infers goals from the discussion.
  • Time Management: Keeps conversations on track with a visible timeline, smart time allocations, and gentle reminders.
  • Notes & Knowledge: Captures editable, real-time notes and answers questions with meeting context and relevant web information.
  • Task Management: Records, assigns, and updates tasks, syncing with Planner for seamless follow-through.
  • Document Creation: Offers one-click creation and generates a first draft in Word or Loop when a new document is needed.
  • Cross-Platform Availability: Available in Teams Rooms and on mobile, extending chat, notes, timers, and adhoc hallway syncs when participants choose to use it.

When this will happen

  • General Availability: Rolling out in September 2025, subject to capacity.

How this affects your organization

  • Facilitator supports structured, productive meetings by centralizing agenda, notes, tasks, and content creation.
  • No admin configuration is required; availability depends on rollout capacity.

10. Agent Mode in Microsoft 365 Copilot for Excel

Agent Mode in Microsoft 365 Copilot for Excel introduces a natural language interface for building and editing workbooks. Users can work alongside Copilot while keeping content fully editable and synchronized with the latest changes. Early access is available through the Frontier preview in the Excel Labs add-in. Users retain full control over all modifications at any time.

Rollout Schedule

  • Excel Labs (Frontier preview via Office Store): Begins September 29, 2025; rollout expected to complete the same day.

  • Who is affected:
    • Users with access to the Excel Labs add-in via the Office Store.
    • Admins managing Office add-ins and Microsoft 365 Copilot capabilities.
  • What will happen:
    • Users can interact with Copilot using natural language to build and edit workbooks.
    • All content remains editable and synced with workbook changes.
    • The feature is available only through the Frontier preview program.
    • Admins must enable the Excel Labs add-in for users to access Agent Mode.
